Patient Questions

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about safety, cost, the coordination process, and aftercare for medical treatment in Turkey.

Safety & quality

Is it safe to have medical treatment in Turkey?

Turkey is one of the world's top medical tourism destinations. Partner clinics in our network hold JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation — the same international standard required of leading hospitals in the US, UK, and Germany. Surgeons at accredited clinics typically hold board certifications and many have completed training in Europe or North America.

How are the clinics verified?

NexWell assesses clinics on accreditation status, surgeon qualifications, technology and imaging equipment, aftercare protocols, and international patient track record. Clinics that do not meet minimum criteria are not included in the network. See our clinic selection criteria on the Our Clinics page.

What happens if there is a complication after treatment?

Your coordinator stays accessible after treatment. If a complication arises, we support communication with the partner clinic and, where necessary, coordination of follow-up care. Partner clinics provide aftercare plans and, for most procedures, documented warranty or revision policies.

Cost & savings

How much can I save compared to the UK or Germany?

Most patients save 50–70% compared to UK or German prices. Single dental implants typically cost €550–850 in Turkey vs £2,000–3,500 in the UK. Gastric sleeve surgery costs approximately £3,000–4,500 in Turkey vs £8,000–12,000 in the UK. Rhinoplasty runs £2,500–4,500 vs £7,000–14,000 in the UK. Exact savings depend on treatment type, case complexity, and clinic tier.

What is included in all-inclusive packages?

Packages vary by treatment type and clinic, but typically include the procedure, pre-operative assessments, anaesthesia, hospital stay, initial medication, VIP airport transfers, and a dedicated coordinator. Some packages include accommodation. Your quote will specify exactly what is included so you can compare like for like.

Are there hidden costs?

NexWell quotes are designed to be transparent. We flag common add-ons upfront — such as implant brand upgrades, extended hotel stays, or additional imaging — so you are not surprised after arrival. Final costs can vary if the treatment scope changes during clinical assessment.

Do I pay NexWell or the clinic directly?

Treatment payments are made to the partner clinic. NexWell's coordination service is free for patients — our model is funded through partnerships with clinics, not by charging patients.

The process

How long does the whole process take from enquiry to treatment?

You typically receive your first quote pack within 24 hours of submitting your case. From there, most dental trips are arranged within 2–4 weeks. Surgical procedures generally take 4–8 weeks to coordinate, allowing time for pre-operative assessment, clinic scheduling, and travel planning.

How long do I need to stay in Turkey?

Dental treatments typically require 5–7 days. Hair transplants are 1–2 days in clinic but most patients stay 5 days. Cosmetic surgeries require 7–10 days depending on the procedure. Bariatric surgery typically requires 5–7 days. Fertility cycles vary significantly — IVF monitoring may require 10–14 days or be split across visits. Your coordinator will provide a precise timeline for your case.

Will I need to come back for a second trip?

Most dental and aesthetic surgery cases are completed in a single trip. Some multi-stage procedures — such as certain implant placements requiring bone grafting, or two-stage hair transplants — may require a return visit. This will be stated clearly in your treatment plan before you book.

Can NexWell help arrange travel and accommodation?

Yes. Once a treatment plan is confirmed, your coordinator maps the trip around the procedure: airport transfers, hotel recommendations matched to the clinic location and recovery needs, and timing that accounts for rest days and check-up appointments.

Aftercare & follow-up

What aftercare support does NexWell provide?

Your coordinator remains your point of contact after you return home. Follow-up coordination, remote check-in support, and liaison with the partner clinic are part of the service. Clinics provide structured aftercare plans for most procedures, and many offer remote consultation options.

What if I need to see a doctor locally after returning home?

We can help you prepare documentation for your local GP or specialist, and coordinate with the treating clinic to provide relevant records. If urgent post-treatment care is needed locally, your coordinator helps facilitate communication between the Turkish clinic and your home provider.
