Frequently asked questions
Common questions about safety, cost, the coordination process, and aftercare for medical treatment in Turkey.
NexWell's role
Is NexWell a clinic?
No. NexWell is an international patient coordination company. Licensed clinicians at the treating facility diagnose, plan, and perform treatment. NexWell compares options, coordinates the journey, and stays involved before, during, and after.
Does NexWell provide medical advice?
No. Content on this site is informational. Clinical decisions remain with licensed healthcare professionals. NexWell collects records and organises them so those clinicians can review the case.
Who makes the final treatment decision?
You do, with the treating clinician. NexWell does not approve, prescribe, or determine treatment. If Turkey is not an appropriate setting for your case, a coordinator should say so rather than force a match.
Does NexWell receive payment from clinics?
NexWell has commercial relationships with selected partner providers. Coordinators are not paid commission per booking. The full explanation is on the How NexWell Gets Paid page.
Can I compare more than one clinic?
Yes. The point of a coordination layer is comparison: written plans you can read side by side — scope, materials where named, timing, and price — before you commit.
What happens if something goes wrong?
Your coordinator remains the point of contact. NexWell helps document the concern and communicate with the treating provider. Exact revision cover depends on that provider's written warranty, not on a marketing promise. The Patient Protection page explains the framework.
Safety & quality
Is it safe to have medical treatment in Turkey?
Turkey has a large, regulated private-care sector. NexWell's partner pathways are built around Ministry of Health–licensed facilities. Some also hold TEMOS accreditation. JCI applies mainly to hospitals, not standalone clinics. Always verify a facility's current status and the treating clinician's credentials directly before you book.
How are the clinics verified?
NexWell looks at licensing, accreditation where it exists, clinician credentials, treatment capability, facilities, documentation, and how complications are handled. Clinics that do not meet minimum criteria are not used. See the clinic selection criteria on the Our Clinics page.
What happens if there is a complication after treatment?
Your coordinator stays accessible after treatment. NexWell supports communication with the treating clinic and, where appropriate, follow-up review. What is then covered — revision treatment, accommodation, or neither — is set by the clinic's written warranty and your treatment agreement. See Patient Protection.
Cost & savings
How much can I save compared to the UK or US?
Savings depend on what you are comparing against: up to 90% against US prices, up to 70% against UK prices. A Straumann or Nobel Biocare dental implant is typically $890–$1,400 in Turkey versus $2,550–$4,450 in the UK. Gastric sleeve typically starts around $3,500 in Turkey versus about $15,000 in the US. Exact savings depend on treatment type, case complexity, and written scope.
What is included in all-inclusive packages?
Packages vary by treatment type and clinic, but typically include the procedure, pre-operative assessments, anaesthesia, hospital stay, initial medication, VIP airport transfers, and a dedicated coordinator. Some packages include accommodation. Your quote will specify exactly what is included so you can compare like for like.
Are there hidden costs?
NexWell quotes are designed to be transparent. We flag common add-ons upfront — such as implant brand upgrades, extended hotel stays, or additional imaging — so you are not surprised after arrival. Final costs can vary if the treating clinician changes the scope after examination. That change should be written down before you pay for it.
Do I pay NexWell or the clinic directly?
Either — it is your choice. Some patients settle through NexWell, others pay the clinic directly; some pay before they travel, others once they arrive and have met the team. None of it changes what you get: an itemised plan in writing before you commit to anything, a dedicated NexWell team member who coordinates your case and stays with you at appointments, and the same follow-up after you return home. If you would rather not send money abroad before meeting anyone, say so — paying on arrival is a normal option, not a special request.
The process
How long does the whole process take from enquiry to treatment?
You typically receive your first quote pack within 24 hours of submitting records and goals. From there, most dental trips are arranged within 2–4 weeks. Surgical procedures generally take 4–8 weeks to coordinate, allowing time for licensed pre-operative review, clinic scheduling, and travel planning.
How long do I need to stay in Turkey?
Dental treatments typically require 5–7 days. Hair transplants are 1–2 days in clinic but most patients stay 5 days. Cosmetic surgeries require 7–10 days depending on the procedure. Bariatric surgery typically requires 5–7 days. Fertility cycles vary significantly — IVF monitoring may require 10–14 days or be split across visits. Your coordinator will provide a precise timeline for your case.
Will I need to come back for a second trip?
Most dental and aesthetic surgery cases are completed in a single trip. Some multi-stage procedures — such as certain implant placements requiring bone grafting, or two-stage hair transplants — may require a return visit. This will be stated clearly in your treatment plan before you book.
Can NexWell help arrange travel and accommodation?
Yes. Once a treatment plan is confirmed, your coordinator maps the trip around the procedure: airport transfers, hotel recommendations matched to the clinic location and recovery needs, and timing that accounts for rest days and check-up appointments.
Aftercare & follow-up
What aftercare support does NexWell provide?
Your coordinator remains your point of contact after you return home. Follow-up coordination, remote check-in support, and liaison with the treating clinic are part of the service. Clinics provide structured aftercare plans for most procedures. See Patient Protection for what happens if a concern arises later.
What if I need to see a doctor locally after returning home?
We can help you prepare documentation for your local GP or specialist, and coordinate with the treating clinic to provide relevant records. If urgent post-treatment care is needed locally, your coordinator helps facilitate communication between the Turkish clinic and your home provider.
