Gastric Balloon in Turkey
A gastric balloon is a temporary option: a balloon is placed in the stomach through the mouth and removed after about 6 months. It suits some people who want a non-permanent step and is not a replacement for surgery. The surgeon's team reviews your height, weight and health history and tells you honestly whether a balloon, a sleeve or neither fits.

Gastric balloon: who it is for
NIDDK describes balloon devices as inserted through the mouth and esophagus with a sedative, then filled with saline to take up space in the stomach and help you feel fuller. They are intended for use while you make changes to your eating plan and physical activity, and are removed after 6 months to a year.
NIDDK also says these devices cause less weight loss than weight-loss surgery, and that researchers have not studied them over a long period, so long-term risks and benefits are not known.
Whether a balloon is appropriate for you is the surgeon's decision after reviewing your records.
Gastric balloon cost: Turkey and one UK listing
Through NexWell, a 6-month gastric balloon in Turkey costs $4,000 (about £3,150). The price covers a 6-month balloon; your written plan lists exactly what is included.
For a UK comparison we cite one published price rather than a band: Ramsay Health Care UK lists a gastric balloon (6 month aftercare) from £5,900, including placement and removal. We read the page on 25 October 2026. It is one provider's "from" price, and other UK providers differ.
We do not state a savings percentage here. The right comparison is your written UK quote against your written NexWell plan.
Gastric balloon risks and when to seek urgent help
In a letter to health care providers (content current as of 27 April 2020), the FDA described two adverse events with liquid-filled intragastric balloons: the balloon over-inflating with air or liquid, and acute pancreatitis, which the FDA said can occur as soon as three days after implantation. Both led to premature removal. The FDA said the root cause and frequency were not known.
Severe abdominal or back pain, vomiting you cannot stop, fever or trouble breathing need an emergency department the same day. Tell them you have a gastric balloon.
