How to Get a Hollywood Smile in Turkey: The Real 7-Day Patient Workflow

The trip itself is 5–7 days. But a well-planned Hollywood Smile case starts 3–4 weeks before you arrive.

The remote phase involves sending photographs — full-face, profile, and close-up smile shots — to the clinic and coordinator. These photos serve three purposes: initial assessment of how many teeth are in the smile zone, identification of any structural issues that might affect planning, and preparation of a first-draft digital smile simulation.

Clinics that ask for X-rays at this stage are doing a more thorough job. Clinics that quote immediately without reviewing photos or X-rays are optimising for booking speed rather than clinical fit.

Day 1 is typically the longest and most information-dense day of the trip.

A full clinical consultation includes: professional photography under standardised lighting, panoramic X-ray (OPG) if not already done remotely, bite analysis and jaw assessment, gum health evaluation, and discussion of your aesthetic goals and reference images.

Digital Smile Design (DSD) software takes your photographs and overlays proposed tooth shapes. You review the simulation on screen — width, length, shade level, and arch form — before any clinical decision is made. This is your first opportunity to give feedback. Changes at this stage cost nothing. Changes after preparation cost time and material.

At the end of Day 1, you should have an approved digital design and a clear treatment plan: number of teeth, material choice, and schedule for the remaining days.

The mock-up is the single most important step in a Hollywood Smile case, and the clearest signal of whether a clinic operates at a high planning standard.

A physical mock-up places temporary composite or wax shapes over your real teeth — without removing any enamel — so you can see and feel the proposed proportions in person. You check the shape in a mirror, photograph it, and if possible video a smile under natural light.

Anything you dislike about the mock-up should be changed at this stage. Ask for adjustments without hesitation. This is your last revision opportunity before preparation begins.

Clinics that skip mock-up and proceed directly to preparation are making a clinical efficiency choice that transfers aesthetic risk to you. Mock-up adds one day to the schedule. That day is worth taking.

With the mock-up approved, Day 3 moves to preparation. For E.max veneers, this means removing a thin layer of enamel (approximately 0.3–0.5 mm) from the front surface of each tooth. This is an irreversible step — which is why the mock-up approval matters.

Digital impressions (3D scan) are taken after preparation. These are sent to the in-house laboratory for fabrication of the definitive veneers. Temporary veneers are placed the same day, so you leave the clinic with a full smile — already close to the final result.

The temporaries serve two functions: they protect the prepared teeth while the porcelain is being made, and they give you another opportunity to assess proportions under real conditions. If something about the temporaries bothers you, communicate it before the final bonding appointment.

E.max and zirconia veneers are fabricated in the clinic's in-house or closely affiliated laboratory. Quality fabrication takes 48–72 hours. Clinics that promise same-day or next-day definitive veneers are using a workflow that leaves less time for quality control and shade calibration.

The definitive veneers are tried in first without adhesive so you can assess shade and shape under the clinic's light and, if possible, natural light. Once approved, bonding proceeds.

After placement, the dentist checks your bite at multiple positions — including side movements and forward bite. Adjustments are made until the bite is even and comfortable. This step is not optional: an imbalanced bite after veneer placement causes fracture risk and discomfort over time.

Final photographs are taken as a clinical record. You receive care instructions: no hard foods for 48 hours, avoiding staining foods and drinks during the first week, and regular hygiene protocol going forward.

A clinic's response to these questions tells you more than its before-and-after gallery:

• Does the treatment include a physical mock-up, or only a digital simulation?
• How many veneers are included in the quoted price, and what determines the count?
• What material is being used — E.max, zirconia, composite, or ceramic-metal?
• Is the laboratory in-house, and what is the typical turnaround time?
• What is the remake policy if a veneer delaminates within the first 12 months?
• Who performs the work — the consulting dentist, or a different clinical team?
