What it does not change: it does not make anatomy identical to anyone else's; it does not treat vaginal laxity, which is a different procedure; it does not remove normal variation in colour or texture. Swelling means the final appearance is not visible for three to six months.
Labiaplasty Techniques
Trim Technique: the excess labial tissue is trimmed along the edge, creating a straight, defined contour. The most commonly performed method.
Wedge Technique: a V-shaped wedge is removed from the middle of the labia, preserving the natural edge. Maintains original colour and texture of the labial border.
De-Epithelialisation: surface tissue is removed while preserving underlying structure. Less commonly used, suitable for specific anatomy.
